Work ShiftPosition Overview:The occupational therapist is responsible for evaluating, planning, organizing, and engaging in rehabilitation programs aimed at restoring or enhancing patients' abilities in daily activities, mobility, cognitive functions, strength, coordination, and range of motion, particularly for those affected by illness or injury. Services are delivered throughout the entire care continuum, with a focus on quality, cost-effectiveness, and customer satisfaction. Adherence to all relevant regulatory standards is essential in this role.
Key Responsibilities:-
Treatment Planning and Care Delivery:
- Implements the occupational therapy treatment strategy.
- Selects suitable treatment activities to help patients achieve their goals.
- Adjusts goals and care plans based on input from patients and their families.
- Provides continuous education and training for patients and their families.
- Offers discharge instructions and referrals to community resources as needed.
- Acts as a resource for staff, families, and physicians regarding rehabilitation services and equipment.

Patient Assessment:
- Collaborates with physicians to establish and evaluate treatment programs, care plans, goals, and discharge strategies tailored to the patient's occupational therapy needs.
- Creates a care plan in partnership with the patient and/or their family members.
- Develops a realistic discharge plan that incorporates the goals of the patient and/or family members.

Documentation:
- Records evaluations and care plans in accordance with departmental guidelines.
- Documents each treatment session following departmental protocols.
- Completes and submits family education, discharge, and other necessary documentation as per facility and program standards.

- Organizes workload to fulfill responsibilities in a timely manner.
- Utilizes materials and equipment safely and cost-effectively.
- Observes infection prevention protocols.

- Meets all educational requirements necessary for maintaining licensure, including surgical training if interested.
- Participates in the orientation and training of new staff members.
- Completes all mandatory hospital and system requirements.
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy.

Licenses and Certifications:
- Occupational Therapist (OT) certification required upon hire.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or equivalent required upon hire.
- Strong communication abilities.
- Customer service orientation.
- Team collaboration skills.
- Basic computer proficiency.
