Job Description
Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification and 1+ years Pharmacy Technician experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This position offers a 13+ week contract-to-hire opportunity supporting sterile compounding operations in a dynamic pharmacy setting. Working Monday through Friday, from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, the role focuses on preparing sterile compounded medications for infusion and specialty pharmacy patients while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare sterile compounded medications under pharmacist supervision following USP <797> and USP <800> standards.
- Maintain aseptic technique and cleanroom protocols.
- Perform accurate pharmacy calculations and prepare compounded products.
- Assist with labeling, packaging, and shipment of infusion medications.
- Manage compounding logs, batch records, and quality assurance documentation.
- Monitor inventory levels and support ordering processes.
- Maintain cleanroom equipment and conduct environmental monitoring.
- Support medication order processing and prescription fulfillment.
- Ensure compliance with State Board of Pharmacy, DEA, OSHA, and company policies.
- Participate in staff meetings, continuous training, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and healthcare professionals.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active Florida Registered Pharmacy Technician license required.
- National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or ExCPT) preferred.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in sterile compounding, home infusion, hospital, or oncology pharmacy.
- Strong knowledge of sterile compounding and aseptic technique.
- Familiarity with USP <797> and USP <800> regulations.
- Proficient in pharmacy calculations and pharmacy management systems.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with healthcare teams.
