\nShift Detail: Mon-Fri
\nIn collaboration with attending surgeons, this role delivers skilled health care across diverse clinical settings and supports the clinical management of patients by working closely with surgeons, nurses, and other members of the health care team. Responsibilities include applying the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, addressing actual or potential surgical needs in accordance with established practices, standards, protocols, and guidelines.
\nJob Responsibilities
\nProvides direct patient care in office consultations, including assessment, workups, triage, emergency work-ins, and other patient care activities
\nObtains and documents health history, performs and documents physical exam, and orders and interprets diagnostic tests
\nProvides counseling to patients regarding diagnosis and expected course of treatment
\nObtain Consents for Smart pill and Manometry procedures
\nScrub MD scheduled to add follow ups
\nIT liaison for MMC and SVMC ex. Missing studies and shared drive issues
\nAttend staff meetings on Motility Orders Workflow Ex. Outside referrals/orders placed incorrectly
\nManage triaged inbox messages ex. med refills
\nRead and interpret breath tests
\nProvide education for Motility Spreadsheet
\nAttend weekly meetings with MDs to discuss complex patients
\n \nShift 40 hours per week.
\n \n\nQualifications\n
\n
Masters degree in nursing
\nNational Certification in Advanced Practice and current CPR certification
\nCurrent State of CT APRN license with prescriptive authority and current DEA number & 100% attendance to maintain annual mandatory skill updates
\n2 years of experience in general surgery/colorectal surgery, ambulatory surgery or acute care setting for surgical care preferred
\nExcellent clinical management skills and proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and take lead when appropriate
