Position Overview

The Staff Development Coordinator for Registered Nurses is responsible for the planning, organization, development, and management of all in-service education programs, ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and organizational standards.

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements
  • Possession of a nursing diploma (either an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in nursing).
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the relevant state, with the requirement to maintain an active license in good standing throughout the duration of employment.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience in skilled nursing is preferred.
  • Experience in teaching or education is preferred.
  • CPR certification is required upon hiring or must be obtained during orientation, with the obligation to keep it current throughout employment.
Specific Job Requirements
  • A strong desire and capability to effectively train and educate nursing staff and other relevant associates.
  • Possess expert knowledge in the nursing field.
  • Ability to make independent decisions when necessary.
  • Familiarity with practices, procedures, and the laws and regulations governing operations in a post-acute care setting.
  • Implement and interpret departmental programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in all competency areas, including but not limited to patient rights, safety, and sanitation.
  • Maintain professional relationships with all associates, vendors, and stakeholders.
  • Ensure confidentiality of all proprietary and sensitive information.
  • Understand and adhere to organizational policies, including those related to harassment and compliance.
  • Exhibit integrity and professionalism by following the organization's Code of Conduct and completing all required compliance training.
Essential Functions
  • Plan, develop, direct, conduct, evaluate, and coordinate staff training, education, in-service programs, and orientation sessions.
  • Maintain accurate records of associate training and in-service participation.
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive attitude towards patients.
  • Assist in the safe evacuation of patients when necessary.
  • Demonstrate reliable and consistent attendance.
  • Utilize reasoning skills and sound judgment in various situations.
  • Communicate effectively and collaborate productively within an interdisciplinary team.
  • Engage in physical activities such as sitting, standing, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping, walking, reaching, and moving intermittently throughout working hours.
  • Read, write, speak, and comprehend the English language proficiently.
