Job Overview

Compensation starts at $31.50 per hour, with our drivers earning between $70,000 and $75,000 annually, including overtime pay. We offer regular pay increases every six months for the first two years, followed by annual raises. Overtime is compensated for hours worked beyond 40 in a week.

Work Schedule

This position requires one overnight shift per week, with accommodations provided in a hotel for overnight stays—no sleeper cabs involved. Depending on business needs, this could increase to two overnight shifts per week after full onboarding. Importantly, there are no weekend shifts!

Position Purpose

As a Food and Food Service Delivery Driver, you play an essential role in maintaining the nation’s food supply chain. Our drivers ensure that customer products are delivered on time and in excellent condition, serving as the face of our organization and fostering strong relationships with clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct all necessary safety checks, including pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and trailer, adhering to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
  • Report any safety concerns or required repairs promptly.
  • Adhere to all DOT regulations and company driving policies.
  • Inspect trailers to ensure freight is loaded and secured properly.
  • Perform item counts and verify customer invoices for loaded products.
  • Drive to deliver customer orders according to a predetermined route.
  • Unload products and transport them to designated storage areas at customer locations.
  • Conduct damage control checks and communicate with supervisors regarding order removals as per company policy.
  • Verify deliveries with customers and obtain necessary signatures.
  • Handle customer returns and ensure the trailer is secured at all times.
  • Complete daily logs of service hours in compliance with Federal DOT, state, and company regulations.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the tractor, loading dock, and trailers.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support the organization.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum of 6 months of commercial driving experience.
  • Valid CDL-A license required.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Meet all state licensing and certification requirements as applicable.
  • Maintain a clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past three years.
  • Pass a post-offer drug test and criminal background check.
  • Successfully complete a road test.
  • Possess or be able to obtain a valid DOT Health Card.
  • Capable of lifting and using equipment to move product cases weighing between 10-35 pounds and up to 60-90 pounds depending on location.
