In this contract role, you’ll provide direct, in-home services to a student who requires expert guidance and instruction. Currently, the caseload is focused on one student needing two sessions each month (one hour per session). As the need for services in the area is expanding, your hours and caseload are likely to grow over the coming weeks—presenting the chance to deepen your impact and gain valuable experience.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid certification/licensure to teach students who are visually impaired
- Previous experience delivering direct instruction to visually impaired students (in-home service experience preferred)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with families
- Comfort traveling to the student's home for sessions
- Ability to adapt learning materials and methods to meet student needs
Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored, one-on-one instruction based on the student’s educational plan
- Assess, monitor, and document student progress throughout the service period
- Maintain strong, positive relationships with students and families
- Partner with school staff and other service providers as needed
- Adjust teaching methods and strategies to support ongoing development
