Make a positive impact as a Special Education Teacher supporting students in grades 3-5. This contracted, full-time role offers the opportunity to collaborate with a dedicated community of educators while helping students thrive academically and socially. School hours are 8:25 AM to 3:30 PM, with contractual hours extending until 4:30 PM to accommodate meetings and additional responsibilities.

Qualifications:

  • Valid special education certification appropriate for grades 3-5
  • Experience working with elementary students in a special education setting
  • Strong classroom management and behavior intervention skills
  • Ability to develop, implement, and monitor IEPs
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills for working with colleagues, parents, and support staff
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and a solution-focused approach

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction aligned with students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for grades 3-5
  • Assess student abilities and design tailored lessons to meet diverse learning needs
  • Collaborate regularly with general education teachers, administration, and support personnel
  • Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and school-based team meetings as scheduled (until 4:30 PM as needed)
  • Maintain up-to-date student records and document progress toward goals
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment to help every student succeed
  • Contribute to schoolwide initiatives and professional development opportunities
