The ophthalmic scribe supports clinical operations by ensuring precise documentation, managing billing integrity, and streamlining patient flow.

  • Clinical Documentation: Transcribes physician discourse in real time during medical assessments, recording patient histories, diagnostic evaluations, and therapeutic strategies with precision and punctuality.
  • Coding & Administration: Maintains coding integrity using accurate ICD-10 and CPT designations. Processes chart amendments per protocol and assists with insurance verifications and schedule adjustments.
  • Provider & Patient Support: Anticipates provider needs, assists with procedures, prepares exam rooms, and performs basic ophthalmic technician duties.
  • Care Coordination: Ensures patients understand discharge instructions and collaborates with front-desk staff to finalize follow-up care and documentation prior to patient departure.
