Job Description
Step into a fulfilling role as a full-time Special Education Teacher working with primary school students in a self-contained classroom, focusing on developmental delays and autism spectrum (DD/AU). Qualifications and Experience:
- Must hold current Multi-Categorical Special Education Teacher certification
- Experience working in primary/elementary school settings preferred
- Knowledge and understanding of developmental delays and autism spectrum disorders
- Background in creating and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Strong collaboration skills with support staff, parents, and other educators
- Compassion, patience, and adaptability in diverse classroom environments
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and implement individualized curriculum for students with exceptional needs
- Maintain a supportive, structured self-contained classroom for primary-aged learners
- Develop, update, and track progress on IEP goals and objectives
- Foster student development—academically, socially, and emotionally
- Communicate regularly with families and multidisciplinary teams
- Ensure compliance with all relevant educational policies and reporting requirements
