Location: San Jose, CA
Job Type: Full-Time (Part-Time may be considered, but Full-Time is strongly preferred) | Onsite

Schedule
  • Monday - Friday

  • 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

  • No weekends

  • No on-call

Compensation
  • $90,000 - $115,000 annually (based on experience)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join a specialized school-based program serving children, adolescents, and young adults with autism spectrum disorders and developmental disabilities. This role focuses on providing individualized speech and language therapy, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and supporting students in achieving meaningful communication and educational goals through evidence-based interventions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct speech, language, communication, and swallowing evaluations as appropriate.

  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on student needs.

  • Provide one-on-one speech-language therapy services.

  • Support students using Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices and communication systems.

  • Participate in IEP meetings and develop measurable speech and language goals.

  • Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports in compliance with special education regulations.

  • Collaborate with teachers, occupational therapists, behavioral staff, psychologists, and other related service providers.

  • Adapt therapeutic approaches to address students' sensory, behavioral, and developmental needs.

  • Educate families and school staff on communication strategies and carryover techniques.

  • Maintain compliance with all state, federal, and school documentation requirements.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.

  • Active California Speech-Language Pathologist license.

  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.

  • Minimum 2-3 years of professional experience as an SLP.

  • School-based experience is required.

  • Experience working with children and adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and/or developmental disabilities.

  • Experience supporting students using AAC systems.

  • Strong understanding of IEP development, documentation, and special education regulations.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a nonpublic school (NPS), special education, or therapeutic educational setting.

  • Experience collaborating within multidisciplinary teams.

  • Familiarity with evidence-based approaches such as:

    • DIR/Floortime

    • ABA

    • TEACCH

    • PRT

    • SCERTS

    • RDI

    • CPI strategies

  • Experience working with nonverbal or minimally verbal students.

  • Ability to modify interventions based on sensory, behavioral, and developmental needs.

Student Population
  • Ages 5-22 years

  • Adult transition program serving individuals 22 years and older

  • 1:1 service model
