  • Case Coverage: 80-90% Spine / 10-20% Cranial

Our organization is seeking neurosurgeons with a focus on spine surgery to address the increasing demand in the region. Serving nearly one million residents, this role offers a substantial clinical workload, complex spine cases, and the support of a highly regarded nonprofit healthcare network.

  • Become part of the region's leading Neurosciences Institute at a regional referral center.
  • Work alongside a robust multidisciplinary team, which includes:
    • 6 Neurosurgeons (including a cerebrovascular/endovascular expert)
    • Neurohospitalists, neurologists, neuroradiologists, neurointerventional neurologists, and skilled Advanced Practice Providers (APPs)
  • Practice at a Level II Trauma Center and a Comprehensive Stroke Center.
  • Utilize the extensive resources of the UPMC health system.

Key Position Highlights:

  • Preferred candidates are American BE/BC Neurological Surgeons.
  • High-volume practice with approximately 80% spine and 20% cranial cases.
  • Diverse case mix including neurotrauma, complex spine issues, brain tumors, and cerebrovascular conditions.
  • Well-balanced schedule promoting career longevity and personal time.
  • Dedicated operating room block time for efficient and predictable scheduling.
  • Collaborative environment with opportunities for participation in conferences, quality initiatives, and teaching.

Qualifications:

  • MD/DO from an accredited medical institution.
  • Completion of an accredited Neurosurgery Residency Program.
  • Fellowship training is not mandatory; however, completion of an accredited Spine Neurosurgery Fellowship is advantageous.
  • Board Eligible or Board Certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery.
  • Capability to secure an unrestricted Pennsylvania Medical License and obtain necessary credentials.
  • DEA certification required.
