Hours: Full-Time Nights from 7 PM to 7 AM

Experience Requirements- Minimum of 5 years of RN experience required
- Direct patient care experience preferred
The Oncology Unit consists of twenty-eight beds, focusing primarily on the care of adult cancer patients requiring inpatient treatments. This unit operates 24/7 and is equipped to handle inpatient hospice needs as well as Oncology Medical-Surgical Telemetry requirements.
Job SummaryThe RN Clinical Nurse plays a vital role as part of an interdisciplinary team, comprising both licensed and unlicensed caregivers. This team ensures that patients, families, and significant others receive personalized, high-quality, and safe care. The clinical environment is overseen by Nurse Managers and other leaders, supported by our Shared Governance Model. Our practice framework is guided by the Professional Practice Model and evidence-based research. All RN Clinical Nurses are expected to be licensed, knowledgeable, and adhere to the nursing standards set forth by the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act, as well as the Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics established by the American Nurses Association. As a member of the patient services team, you will advocate for the patient’s voice while adhering to system policies and striving for service excellence.
Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions-
Exemplary Practice and Outcomes:
- Utilizes the Nursing Process (assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation) to deliver clinical care based on evidence-based practices, ensuring individualized care and effective coordination.
- Provides patient-centered care that respects population-specific characteristics (age, gender, disease, etc.) and adapts service delivery to reflect cultural diversity.
- Engages with patients and their significant others appropriately, utilizing methods such as bedside shift reports and interdisciplinary rounds to keep them informed and focused on their care goals.
- Adheres to current clinical practice standards.

Teamwork and Collaboration:
- Coordinates and documents safe, quality patient care, promoting a professional care delivery model through diverse interdisciplinary communication methods.
- Demonstrates teamwork by practicing in a fiscally responsible manner, supporting the recruitment and retention of healthcare team members.
- Engages in performance improvement initiatives, supporting research and quality patient care, and actively participates in shared governance.

Professional Development and Initiative:
- Completes all required initial and ongoing professional competency assessments and mandatory education.
- Acts as a preceptor or mentor for other nurses and staff, ensuring a qualified future workforce and fostering a healthy work environment.

Evidence-Based Practice and Research:
- Promotes evidence-based practices and nursing research, participating in value analysis for patient care products.
- Adheres to all organizational policies and clinical competencies, ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and accreditation standards.
- Engages in data collection and formulates relevant clinical questions to advance evidence-based practice.

- Plans proactively for patient care across the continuum while delivering direct care.
- Contributes to the development of protocols and procedures in collaboration with care managers and the healthcare team.
- Supports the efficient use of human and material resources.
Other duties may be assigned as needed. Compliance with all organizational policies, work standards, and the code of conduct is expected.
Education Requirements- Associate's Degree in Nursing or Diploma in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
- All certifications must be obtained upon hire unless otherwise specified:
- RN - Registered Nurse (Single State) or RN-COMPACT - Multi-state Compact
- BLS - Basic Life Support or equivalent certifications.
- Minimum of 5 years of RN experience required; direct patient care experience preferred.
- Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English; capable of utilizing technology to enhance clinical care.
- Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills, along with excellent customer service abilities.
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and respond to emergencies with composure and respect.
- Demonstrates effective time management and critical thinking skills, applying evidence-based practices in nursing.
