Position OverviewThe RN Clinical Nurse plays a vital role as part of a collaborative team of licensed and unlicensed caregivers, ensuring that patients, families, and significant others receive personalized, high-quality, and safe care. This role operates within a clinical setting overseen by Nurse Managers and other leaders, supported by our Shared Governance Model. The practice framework is guided by our Professional Practice Model, emphasizing evidence-based practices and research. RN competencies are aligned with these models and reflect our organizational values.
All RN Clinical Nurses are expected to be licensed, knowledgeable, and adhere to the nursing practices defined by the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act. They must implement the Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics Standards established by the American Nurses Association. As part of the patient services team, it is essential to advocate for the patient's voice while adhering to system policies and striving for service excellence.
Key Responsibilities-
Exemplary Practice and Outcomes:
- Utilizes the Nursing Process (assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation) to deliver clinical care based on evidence-based practices, ensuring individualized care through analytical and critical thinking.
- Delivers relationship-based, patient-centered care that respects population-specific characteristics (e.g., age, gender, disease) and cultural diversity.
- Engages with patients and significant others appropriately, utilizing methods such as bedside shift reports and interdisciplinary rounds to keep them informed and focused on their care goals.
- Adheres to current clinical practice standards.

- Coordinates and documents safe, quality patient care, promoting a professional care delivery model through inclusive interdisciplinary communication.
- Exhibits teamwork by practicing responsibly and fostering the recruitment and retention of healthcare team members.
- Engages in performance improvement initiatives, supporting research and quality patient care, and actively participates in shared governance.

- Completes all required professional competency assessments and ongoing education.
- Acts as a preceptor or mentor for other nurses and staff to ensure a qualified workforce and a healthy work environment.

- Advocates for evidence-based practices and nursing research, participating in value analysis for patient care products.
- Complies with all organizational policies, procedures, and clinical competencies, ensuring adherence to legal and accreditation standards.
- Engages in data collection and formulates relevant clinical questions to enhance evidence-based practice.

- Proactively plans patient care across the continuum while providing direct care.
- Contributes to the development of protocols and procedures in collaboration with care managers and the healthcare team to achieve optimal outcomes.

Minimum Education:
- Associate’s Degree in Nursing or graduation from an accredited nursing program (Required)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (Preferred)

Licenses and Certifications:
- Registered Nurse (Single State) upon hire (Required)
- RN - Multi-state Compact upon hire (Required)
- Basic Life Support (Required)
- BLS Instructor (Required)
- BLS Provisional (Required)

Experience:
- Less than 1 year of experience after completing an accredited nursing program with required clinical hours (Required)
- Direct patient care experience (Preferred)
