Job Description
Make a meaningful impact supporting elementary students by providing essential social work services for a local school in the Sugar Grove area. This contract opportunity offers the chance to partner with a dedicated educational team and help students thrive during a pivotal part of their learning journey.
This assignment begins August 12, 2026 and runs through November 4, 2026, with the possibility of extension. Working onsite from 8:00 AM to 3:35 PM, you will support students in grades K-5, addressing a variety of needs and helping create a safe, positive school environment.
Ideal candidates will bring:
- Valid Illinois School Social Worker (SSW) license and PEL (Professional Educator License)
- Experience as a school-based social worker or demonstrable background providing services in K-5 educational settings
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, working effectively with students, families, teachers, and administrators
- Knowledge of best practices in school social work, including trauma-informed interventions, crisis response, and developmental supports
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and confidential student information with professionalism
Key responsibilities in this role:
- Deliver counseling and supportive services to elementary-aged students
- Collaborate with educators and families to address academic, behavioral, social, and emotional needs
- Participate in multi-disciplinary teams and contribute to IEP/504 planning as needed
- Facilitate group and individual sessions, conduct assessments, and provide crisis intervention when required
- Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with school policies and state guidelines
