Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated professional to work full-time in a contract position within a supportive school environment. The assignments include opportunities at the elementary and middle school levels, offering both self-contained and co-teaching experiences.
At the elementary level, the Structured Teaching and Learning Rooms (STLR) program supports students with Autism and functional communication needs in a self-contained setting, serving a manageable caseload of 10-13 students. You’ll develop individualized strategies, collaborate with support staff, and foster communication growth and independence.
At the middle school level, the co-teacher position focuses on supporting students in a collaborative classroom setting for Supported Education, guiding up to 13 students toward academic and social success.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification
- Prior experience with students with Autism and/or functional communication challenges preferred
- Skilled in developing and implementing IEPs
- Comfortable adapting teaching strategies to individual student needs
- Effective collaborator with general educators, aides, and related service providers
- Strong communication, organization, and classroom management abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver instruction tailored to students’ unique learning needs
- Implement evidence-based practices and support positive student behavior
- Maintain detailed records and documentation
- Engage in meaningful collaboration with families and multidisciplinary teams
- Monitor student progress and adjust approaches where necessary
- Participate in school meetings and professional development as needed
