Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teaching Credential (California or eligibility to obtain)
- Experience working with students with mild to moderate and/or moderate to severe disabilities
- Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and compliance
- Ability to differentiate instruction and utilize evidence-based strategies
- Excellent communication, organization, and teamwork skills
- Adaptable and patient approach to diverse classroom situations
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs
- Deliver instruction across a range of subject areas using modified curriculum and accessible teaching methods
- Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and support staff to ensure comprehensive student support
- Communicate regularly with families to share student progress and set goals
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with district and legal requirements
- Create a nurturing, structured, and motivating classroom environment
