Charge Nurse - MedSurg, Pulmonary, Nights

Department: Medical Surgical 2 - Pulmonary Unit

Schedule: Full-time, Night Shift (7 PM - 7 AM)

Incentives: Sign-on bonus available, along with specialty differential pay.

The Pulmonary Unit, featuring 12 beds, is situated on the 6th floor of our newly constructed Main Tower. Here, our clinical team collaborates closely with hospitalists, pulmonologists, and respiratory therapists to deliver exceptional care to patients facing both acute and chronic respiratory challenges.

The Pulmonary Nurse is tasked with providing high-quality nursing care to patients in acute settings. This involves utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. The nurse operates within the organization's policies and procedures, showcasing professional growth and accountability. Key responsibilities include:

• Coordinating the delivery of quality nursing care for patients across all age groups, while managing operational matters during the shift.
• Delivering clinical care as necessary based on patient census demands.
• Effectively communicating patient care updates, departmental issues, and staff concerns to relevant leadership.
• Serving as a resource for guidance and support to fellow staff members.

Minimum Education:
Completion of an accredited nursing program.

Minimum Experience:
At least one year of nursing experience in a hospital environment is required.

Licensure/Certification:
Must possess a current Registered Nurse license in the State of Georgia or a valid NLC/eNLC Multistate License. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.

Preferred Qualifications:
A minimum of two years of nursing experience in a hospital setting is preferred. A Bachelor’s degree is also preferred, along with advanced certification in the relevant specialty, if applicable. Demonstrated clinical competency is essential.
