\n\nHartford HealthCares Ayer Neuroscience Institute seeks a visionary Neurologist to be Chair of the Department of Neurology at St. Vincents Medical Center in Bridgeport, CT
\nThe Ayer Neuroscience Institute at Hartford HealthCare is a rapidly growing entity with a focus on comprehensive patient care, academics, research, and training. The Institute enjoys the resources of a system committed to excellence in patient care and experience and boasts an impressive staff of over 300 Neuroscience physicians and advanced practitioners.
\n\nAs Chair of Neurology you will oversee all aspects of department strategic planning, growth, and operations focusing on quality neurological care at St. Vincent's Medical Center including:
\nLeading the development and enhancement of departmental clinical and educational activities, in accordance with the facility s mission and vision
\nSupervising all professional activities and clinical staff within the Department and within subspecialty divisions of the Department
\nLeading staff including appointing departmental members to committees, establishing and coordinating faculty and staff development, periodically evaluating faculty and staff as well as all faculty appointments, reappointments, and promotions according to Medical Staff By-Laws
\nEnsuring professional performance of all practitioners with clinical privileges in the Department
\nCollaborating with administrative and nursing leadership to build a team-based clinical environment
\nDeveloping hospital focused quality metrics
\nOutreach to EMS services
\nPromote and support academic teaching and clinical research opportunities
\n\nClinical Responsibility: This position includes 60% clinical coverage which may comprise inpatient and/or outpatient clinic coverage depending on specialty.
\nThis role reports directly to the Vice President of Medical Affairs, St. Vincents Medical Center & the Co-Physician-in-Chief of the Ayer Neuroscience Institute.
\n\nQualifications:
\nMedical Degree from an accredited University
\nCandidate must be board certified in Neurology
\n5+ years of clinical experience
\nLeadership experience preferred but not required
\nCT license or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Connecticut
\nA strong work ethic and desire to participate in a team-oriented, performance-driven health system
\nAbility to respectfully collaborate and build relationships with a diverse set of teammates
\nAbility to thrive in a constantly evolving environment, challenging the status quo and striving to innovate and improve care delivery
\nExcellent communication, bedside manner, and organizational skills
