Job Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Lead electrical system design for commercial, institutional, multifamily, and mixed-use building projects.

  • Produce and oversee construction documents using Revit/BIM and AutoCAD.

  • Perform electrical engineering calculations, equipment selection, and system sizing.

  • Serve as the Engineer of Record by signing and sealing construction drawings.

  • Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, and deliverables.

  • Coordinate with mechanical, plumbing, architectural, and structural teams throughout the design process.

  • Support construction administration through site visits, RFI responses, submittal reviews, and punch list activities.

  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior and mid-level electrical engineers.

  • Participate in quality control reviews and maintain engineering standards.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable building codes and standards, including FBC, NEC, and NFPA.

  • Serve as a primary technical contact for clients, consultants, and project stakeholders.

Qualifications and Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline.

  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) License in Florida (Required).

  • 6-15+ years of MEP consulting or building systems design experience.

  • Experience serving as the Engineer of Record with sign-and-seal responsibility.

  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit.

  • Experience designing electrical systems for commercial, multifamily, institutional, or mixed-use projects.

  • Strong understanding of Florida Building Code (FBC), National Electrical Code (NEC), and NFPA standards.

  • Strong project management, communication, and coordination skills.

  • Experience mentoring engineering staff and leading technical teams.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
