Note: This role may qualify for a bonus of up to $10,000 for day shifts and $15,000 for night shifts for full-time external applicants with a minimum of one year of RN experience. Current internal associates are not eligible for sign-on bonuses.

Position: Registered Nurse (RN) – Progressive Care (Step Down)

Location: Southside Regional Medical Center

Job Overview:

The Progressive Care (Step Down) Registered Nurse (RN) is tasked with providing exceptional nursing care to patients by:

• Employing strong organizational and leadership abilities to evaluate patient conditions.
• Serving as the intermediary between Med-Surg and ICU units.
• Identifying and prioritizing patient issues and needs.
• Creating and executing patient care plans aimed at improving outcomes.
• Maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary care team.
• Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments, analyze data, develop care plans, implement treatments, and evaluate their effectiveness.
• Act as the primary contact for patient care coordination across hospital departments.
• Champion patient safety by engaging in continuous quality improvement initiatives within the department.
• Administer medications safely in accordance with state regulations and organizational policies.
• Fulfill additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred, not mandatory).
• Certifications:
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • BLS Basic Life Support or ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support (preferred at hire; must be obtained from an approved source before direct patient care; ACLS required within 6 months of hire).
• Experience:
  • Minimum of 1 year of RN experience (required).
  • 6 months of RN experience in an acute care hospital setting (preferred).

Salary Range:
Minimum: $34.33
Maximum: $54.93
