Key Responsibilities

Our organization operates a DNV Stroke Certified Neuroscience unit within a primary Stroke center, featuring a 30-bed acute care environment dedicated to treating Stroke, spinal injuries, head injuries, and both pre-operative and post-operative surgical needs. The nursing team is certified in NIHSS assessments and participates in the Georgia stroke class curriculum.

This dynamic inpatient unit is focused on supporting patients throughout their recovery journey. The Neuro floor team is bolstered by a Stroke Coordinator, Physical and Occupational Therapists, Respiratory Therapy, Physicians, Case Management, Social Work, Administrative Support, Phlebotomy, Lift Team, IV Team, STAT Team, and Pharmacy. Our comprehensive orientation program pairs both seasoned and new staff with experienced preceptors to facilitate goal-setting and training, ensuring your success as a member of the Neuro Team.

The Neurology unit is responsible for delivering nursing care through a systematic approach that includes assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care. Nurses operate within the organization's policies and procedures, demonstrating professional development and accountability. Each staff nurse is tasked with upholding practice standards and coordinating patient care activities among all assigned personnel to ensure high-quality nursing care.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Providing nursing care to patients across all age groups, utilizing nursing processes for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Adhering to the organization's policies and procedures while demonstrating professional growth and accountability.
  • Maintaining standards of practice and coordinating care activities among assigned staff to deliver quality nursing services.
Qualifications

Minimum Education Required:
Completion of an accredited nursing program.

Minimum Experience Required:
New graduates from nursing programs are welcome to apply.

Minimum Licensure/Certification Required by Law:
Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Georgia or NLC/eNLC Multistate License.
BLS certification is mandatory.

Additional Qualifications:

  • For PRN roles: One year of nursing experience in a hospital setting is preferred.
  • A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • Advanced certification in the relevant specialty is advantageous (refer to addendum).
  • Prior nursing experience in a hospital environment is preferred.
