About the Location

Situated just southeast of downtown Los Angeles, the Downey service area is known for its quality housing and diverse activities. Staff members often reside in Downey, as well as in nearby Los Angeles, Hollywood, and Orange County, providing access to a wealth of fine dining, entertainment, and cultural experiences that Southern California has to offer.

Work Environment

At our Downey location, we foster a culture of teamwork and collaboration, prioritizing safety for both patients and caregivers. Our leadership promotes accessibility and maintains a flat organizational structure, which helps build trust among physicians and support staff. Innovation is a key focus; for instance, Downey was the first medical center in the region to perform same-day total joint surgeries. We also emphasize efficiency, continually improving workflows across the medical center and ancillary offices. Wellness—both physical and mental—is a priority, with regular opportunities for staff to socialize, dine out, and engage in physical activities together. With a high level of tertiary care, one of the largest NICUs in the region, and a dedicated OB and anesthesia team comprised entirely of physicians, Downey provides exceptional service to a diverse and high-risk patient population.

Equal Employment Opportunity

All external candidates must successfully complete a background check and drug screening. We consider qualified applicants with arrest and/or conviction records in accordance with federal, state, and local laws, including the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance.
