Job Description
Step into a rewarding contract position as a Special Education Teacher supporting a tight-knit K-6 student community of approximately 180 learners. This opportunity begins August 25, 2026, and continues through June 11, 2027, with consistent weekday hours from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, totaling 35 hours each week.
You'll lead a self-contained, multi-disability classroom, maintaining a manageable caseload of 7–8 students, primarily within setting 2 and 3 placements. The school is known for its calm environment and minimal behavioral concerns, with students having a range of cognitive disabilities, learning disabilities, or autism. Collaboration with a dedicated and caring staff enhances support and learning outcomes for every child.
Key Qualifications:
- Current Tier 3 or Tier 4 Minnesota Special Education Teacher licensure (required)
- Prior experience in self-contained or multi-disability settings is a plus
- Passion for cultivating individualized achievement and inclusive learning
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration
- Ability to adapt instruction for diverse student needs and abilities
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and modify IEPs tailored to each student
- Create an engaging, structured classroom with clear routines
- Deliver specialized instruction and interventions to promote student growth
- Maintain accurate progress monitoring and documentation
- Foster positive, supportive relationships with students and families
- Collaborate with colleagues and related services providers
