Special Education Teacher - New Waverly, Texas

Bring your expertise in special education to a rewarding contract opportunity supporting a student in need of individualized instruction. This role is based onsite near New Waverly, TX and is focused on providing Homebound services to a 3rd grade student with life skills needs. The responsibilities will begin as soon as possible and continue through an extended school year end date (to be confirmed), with the option to remain for the full school year from August 12th, 2026 to May 22nd, 2027.

What We’re Looking For:

• Valid certification as a Special Education Teacher
• Previous experience working with elementary-age students, especially those requiring life skills instruction
• Ability to deliver both instructional and compensatory services
• Experience developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) preferred
• Commitment to onsite, face-to-face teaching
• Strong communication and documentation skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 6 hours per week of Homebound instruction (4 instructional, 2 compensatory) beginning August 17th
• Instruct and support a 3rd grader with life skills in alignment with their IEP
• Collaborate closely with district staff and family to monitor and report progress
• Ensure all services are delivered onsite as required
• Maintain accurate records of sessions, attendance, and progress according to district and state guidelines
