Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Washington State Special Education Teacher certification (required)
- Experience teaching students with various disabilities at the middle school level is strongly preferred
- Strong communication skills for working collaboratively with colleagues, families, and support staff
- Skilled in developing and implementing IEPs individualized to each student’s needs
- Adaptable approach: able to modify instructional strategies to meet diverse learning styles
- Proficiency with both technology and in-person instruction
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction to middle schoolers in a supportive, inclusive classroom
- Assess students’ skills and progress, developing goals and accommodations as needed
- Implement, monitor, and adjust Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals, therapists, and other educators to ensure student success
- Foster a classroom community that encourages growth, belonging, and respect
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians to support each learner’s development
This full-time, on-site contract spans August 26, 2026, through June 11, 2027, with regular hours Monday through Friday, 7.5 hours daily. Initial interviews will begin promptly via Zoom or in person, so don’t miss your chance to impact students’ lives in a meaningful way.
