Adaptive Physical Education Teacher (APE) - Maple Grove, MN

Bring your expertise as a Developmental Adaptive Physical Education Teacher to middle school students, making a meaningful impact through a contract position for the upcoming school year. Your skills will help create an inclusive, supportive environment for learners with diverse physical needs at two dynamic middle schools in the Blaine area.

Key Qualifications:

• Current Minnesota DAPE (Developmental Adaptive Physical Education) teaching license required (must be submitted with your resume)
• Demonstrated experience working as an Adaptive Physical Education Teacher in a school setting
• Strong understanding of adaptive physical education strategies and individualized program development
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with multidisciplinary teams
• Commitment to fostering a positive, engaging classroom atmosphere for students with varying abilities

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver adapted physical education services in accordance with students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Assess students’ functional motor skills and develop targeted, outcomes-based activities
• Collaborate closely with school staff, therapists, and families to promote student success
• Document student progress, adaption plans, and attend relevant IEP meetings
• Manage a full-time caseload split between two middle school campuses
• Provide both group and individualized instruction as needed

This is a full-time contract opportunity (37.5 hours/week, M-F), beginning in early September 2026 and continuing through the end of November 2026. The role offers a dynamic, supportive school environment and a highly collaborative special education team.
