Job Description
Step into a dynamic school-based role supporting students across a range of ages, from early childhood through young adulthood (ages 3-21). This full-time, on-site contract opportunity starts August 11, 2026, and runs through May 26, 2027, providing essential occupational therapy services in a collaborative educational setting.
You’ll be the primary occupational therapist for a cluster of 6 to 7 schools within a designated zone, thoughtfully assigned to keep your daily commute manageable. A portion of your caseload is consult-only, with about 30-40 students receiving direct services on a rotating schedule. Rarely will students require weekly sessions; instead, you’ll rotate through intervals based on student needs. You’ll also complete evaluations, participate in ARD meetings, and handle documentation using school-based platforms and IEP logs.
Desired Qualifications:
- Current Texas OT license and clean state fingerprinting/background check
- Previous school or strong pediatric experience, with highly qualified COTAs encouraged to apply
- Comfortable supporting a diverse student population ages 3-21
- Familiarity with SHARES and Onward platforms a plus
- Strong organizational skills for managing rotating caseloads and documentation
- Must not be a former employee or have previous terminations from school districts (background affidavit required)
- Willingness to travel between assigned schools; district office may be used as a home base
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy services as outlined in student IEPs
- Conduct evaluations and contribute meaningfully during ARDs
- Maintain accurate records and logs per district requirements
- Serve as lead OT, independently managing all service delivery with no COTA assistants
