Assembly Technician
Job Description
CoWorx is seeking a detail-oriented Assembly Technician to join a growing manufacturing team in Saco, ME. This position focuses on the assembly of small precision components using microscopes and specialized tools in a cleanroom environment. The ideal candidate will have strong hand-eye coordination, excellent attention to detail, and experience working with small parts or delicate assemblies.
This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with assembly, electronics, optics, medical device, or manufacturing experience who enjoy precision work and working in a quality-focused environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assemble small optical, mechanical, and electro-mechanical components according to work instructions and specifications.
- Perform precision assembly under a microscope.
- Handle delicate parts while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other inspection equipment.
- Conduct visual inspections and functional testing of completed assemblies.
- Record assembly and test results accurately.
- Follow cleanroom procedures and contamination-control requirements.
- Troubleshoot and identify basic assembly issues.
- Work closely with engineering and production teams to support manufacturing goals.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
Desired Background/Skills:
- Previous experience in precision assembly, microscope work, electronics assembly, medical device manufacturing, optical assembly, or a related field preferred.
- Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to work with very small parts and components.
- Comfortable working in a cleanroom environment.
- Ability to read and follow written work instructions and drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Basic computer skills for documentation and data entry.
Other Information:
Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
$25-$28/hr depending on experience
