Location: Dedham, MA

Sign-On Bonus: $5,000 for Full-Time Positions

The role of the Licensed Practical Nurse involves administering medications under the guidance of the charge nurse, nurse manager, or nursing supervisor. While providing care, the LPN will not conduct nursing assessments or admissions.

Shifts Available:

• Day: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
• Evening: 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM
• Night: 11:00 PM - 7:30 AM (with rotating weekends)

Compensation:

Hourly Rate: $33.75 - $46.70, based on experience

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure high-quality nursing care for patients, focusing on optimal health, education, counseling, collaborative planning, and restoration of function.
• Integrate knowledge of patient rights and our mission, vision, and values into nursing practices.
• Serve as a patient advocate, helping individuals develop self-advocacy skills.
• Document patient information promptly and accurately.
• Monitor vital signs and report any abnormalities to the physician.
• Adhere to the policies and objectives of the nursing department and the facility.
• Deliver nursing care effectively, demonstrating sound clinical judgment and professional competency.
• Participate in community meetings and group therapy sessions as assigned.
• Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, families, and staff.
• Provide ongoing education to patients and their families.
• Accurately transcribe medication and treatment orders, maintaining the medication administration record (MAR).
• Safely administer prescribed medications and treatments using appropriate methods.
• Evaluate and document patient responses to medications, identifying needs for PRN medications.

Qualifications:

Education:

• Graduate from an accredited Practical Nursing program.

Experience:

• At least 2 years of experience in a hospital environment.

Licensure/Certification:

• Current LPN license in Massachusetts.
• CPR certification required.

Knowledge:

• Understanding of general and psychiatric nursing processes, therapeutic relationships, age-specific growth and development, limit setting, and crisis management.
