Job Description
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist in Charge experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This opportunity is for an interim Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacist in Charge to provide leadership and management coverage at a behavioral health facility. The role involves overseeing pharmacy operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting staff in a 165-licensed bed hospital with an average daily census of 130.
Location: Barboursville, WV
Job Type: Contract (starting 8/31/26 until permanent hire)
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
- On-call coverage after shifts and on weekends
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily pharmacy operations including staff oversight and administrative duties of the Pharmacist in Charge role
- Collaborate with pharmacy staff consisting of 1 full-time pharmacist, 4 per diem pharmacists, and 2.6 full-time equivalent technicians
- Ensure quality assurance and compliance with all state and federal pharmacy regulations
- Participate in order filling, delivery, and inventory management processes alongside technician support
- Utilize HCS for order entry and Omnicell automation system (training provided)
- Provide leadership during the transition period, receiving onsite training from the retiring Director of Pharmacy
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active West Virginia pharmacist license is required
- Experience in hospital pharmacy settings, preferably within behavioral health
- Familiarity with Omnicell technology and HCS order entry system is highly valued; training is available
- Proven leadership abilities in pharmacy management and staffing
- Ability to work weekends and be on-call as scheduled
