Embark on Your Journey as a New Pharmacist

  • Oversee inventory management in the pharmacy, ensuring compliance with the drug formulary.
  • Maintain the formulary, including ordering, receiving, storage, and all necessary documentation.
  • Restock medications, including refilling the dispensing machine (24-hour supply), utilizing a unit-dose system.
  • Regularly replenish floor stock items in accordance with policy, including narcotic inventory.
  • Keep accurate records for pharmacy reporting and tracking purposes.
  • Review pharmacy profiles and track dispensed medications for precise billing.
  • Monitor narcotic administration and reconcile doses as per medication guidelines.
  • Manage the Administration Record in the narcotics sign-out log.
  • Ensure that floor stock (medications and IVs) is maintained at appropriate levels.
  • Verify that emergency boxes comply with pharmacy policy.
  • Complete and maintain the pharmacy inspection manual.
  • Transfer pharmacy charges to the business office.
  • Prioritize orders based on drug schedules or urgency, ensuring timely delivery of STAT orders.
  • Enter and process all orders for pharmacist verification.
  • Conduct daily rounds to inspect emergency drug boxes and medication dispensing machines.
  • Safeguard all pharmaceutical-generated protected health information.

Qualifications

  • Must meet the state board of pharmacy registration or licensure requirements in the state of employment.
  • Currently enrolled in a professional degree program at an accredited pharmacy school that is recognized by the Board and making satisfactory progress toward licensure as a Pharmacist; OR
  • A graduate from an accredited pharmacy program or a candidate who has achieved educational equivalency through the Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Examination Committee™ (FPGEC®) Certificate, currently licensed by the Board of Pharmacy to gain practical experience for licensure as a Pharmacist; OR
  • An eligible applicant awaiting licensure examination or fulfilling Board requirements for re-licensure.
