Job Description
Job Title: Public Relations Specialist (Hybrid) Pay Rate: $35.25/hr. On W2 without benefits Duration: 03+Months Job Duties: Public Relations Specialists (OW) will work with Specific Populations, which may include Black populations, Latino/Hispanic populations, Asian/Pacific Islander populations, LGBTQ+ populations, the senior population, and People Experiencing Homelessness through direct engagement, empathetic understanding, and focused program development tailored to meet their unique needs. This position is a maximum of 35 hours per week. Tuesday through Saturday. Availability to work between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. Statewide travel is mandatory based on program needs. Travel and parking reimbursement. Health insurance required after 60 days from the 1st day of work. Active NJ Driver's License is mandatory. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent organizational and project management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proactively engage community members during field assignments by sharing resources relevant to their needs. Accurately articulate the mission of the Specific Populations Program and assist with Program presentations occasionally. Successfully staff Ambassador Partners' events, providing and community resources based on partners' identified needs. Identify, develop, and cultivate relationships with potential partners to share with Specific Population Ambassadors. Proactively identify new events and locations for outreach participation by entering weekly submissions in shared tracking system. Proficiently communicate health resources to community members (e.g., vaccine literature, respiratory viruses, cancer screenings, chronic diseases, etc.) per With support from the Health Educator, review educational materials (flyers, brochures, palm cards) weekly to communicate accurate information to residents to reduce communicable and chronic diseases among Specific Populations in New Jersey. Maintain valid and accurate on-the-field data survey entries. Collaborate with team members to ensure all materials (flyers, tent, table, chairs, incentives) are picked up from DOH on Wednesdays and transported to field assignments according to their assigned outreach schedule. Additional responsibilities may be added as determined by the program manager based on evolving program needs.
