Staff Pharmacist in Dubuque, IA

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A full-time opportunity for a licensed pharmacist is available to support multiple retail pharmacy locations across Iowa, with primary operations based in Dubuque. This contract role starts mid-July for a three-month term, offering weekday shifts with occasional Saturday half-days. Ideal candidates will be adaptable, willing to travel between sites up to 75 minutes apart, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Dispense medications accurately under direct supervision, ensuring patient safety and regulatory compliance.
• Provide medication counseling and advice, enhancing patient understanding and adherence.
• Address patient questions, concerns, and complaints professionally and promptly.
• Manage stock levels, maintain controlled substance records, and conduct inventories.
• Resolve patient issues and assist with insurance coverage clarifications.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Active pharmacist license in Iowa.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a retail pharmacy setting.
• Comfortable managing a high volume prescription workload.
• Proficient with Mckesson Enterprise software is preferred.

Location and Schedule:

• Work will involve floating between multiple sites including Dubuque (highest volume), Preston, Bellevue, Independence, and Monticello.
• Typical shifts run Monday to Friday, 8:00 am–5:00 pm or 9:00 am–6:00 pm, with occasional Saturdays (half-day).
