Job Description
Step into an impactful special education role providing Homebound instruction for a 3rd grade Life Skills student. This contract opportunity offers the chance to make a meaningful difference, working closely with students and supporting their unique needs in an onsite environment. Scheduling begins as soon as possible, with summer session end dates and a guaranteed placement for the full school year (August 12th, 2026 through May 22nd, 2027).
What you’ll bring:
- Valid Special Education teaching credentials/certification for the state of Texas (required)
- Experience delivering instruction to elementary school students, ideally in special education or Life Skills settings
- Ability to provide 6 hours per week of Homebound services (4 instructional hours, 2 compensatory hours)
- Proven capability to differentiate instruction and develop individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Commitment to fostering a positive, supportive learning environment for students with diverse learning needs
- Strong communication and organizational skills for effective collaboration with families, school professionals, and team members
What you’ll do:
- Deliver engaging, individualized Homebound instruction for a 3rd grade Life Skills student each week
- Track and report on student progress, adapting lessons to fit the student's needs
- Maintain compliance with all district and state special education requirements
- Implement compensatory services as needed and document interventions
- Serve as an onsite resource, providing support and expertise within the educational team
