This short-term contract runs from August 17th to November 4th and involves working with diverse grade levels, with a special emphasis on transition-aged students (20–22 years old). The onsite role is ideal for professionals who thrive making direct, positive impacts in students’ lives.

Ideal candidates have a passion for working with children and adolescents, strong communication skills, and a collaborative approach to student care. You’ll deliver educationally relevant physical therapy services to special education students, focusing on building or adapting gross motor abilities so each learner can achieve their fullest potential.

Preferred Experience & Requirements:

  • Active Illinois Physical Therapist Licensure
  • Demonstrated pediatric physical therapy experience
  • Previous work in a school-based setting essential
  • Experience supporting transition-aged young adults a plus
  • Strong organizational and documentation abilities
  • Commitment to fostering inclusive and supportive learning environments

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate students’ physical therapy needs and develop tailored intervention plans
  • Deliver direct therapy sessions to students with a broad range of abilities and grade levels
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including educators, parents, and related service providers—to support individualized student goals
  • Contribute to IEP meetings, reports, and progress updates
  • Promote safe and accessible learning spaces through adaptive strategies and equipment recommendations
