Job Description
Embark on a rewarding opportunity as a Special Education Teacher supporting Monroe Elementary School’s innovative environment, where hands-on learning is at the heart of the K-5 program. This contract position focuses on serving as an Emotional Behavior Disorder (EBD) Center-based Teacher, making a direct impact on students’ social, emotional, and academic achievements within a creative and collaborative school community.
Primary duties will include:
- Delivering specialized instruction and supports to students with emotional and behavioral needs in alignment with IEPs.
- Collaborating with general education teachers, specialists, and support staff to foster inclusive and effective learning experiences.
- Designing and adapting instructional materials to ensure accessibility for all learners.
- Maintaining accurate documentation and ongoing progress reporting for assigned caseloads.
- Engaging actively with families and caregivers to support student growth and well-being.
- Utilizing school-wide initiatives such as Project Lead the Way Launch to infuse STEM concepts throughout special education instruction.
Qualifications required:
- Current Minnesota teaching certification (Tier 3 or Tier 4) in Special Education; please ensure certification and updated resume are included with your application.
- Previous experience teaching students with emotional or behavioral disorders is strongly preferred.
- Excellent communication, organization, and team-building abilities.
- Commitment to fostering a supportive, positive, and adaptive classroom environment.
