Position OverviewThe RN Clinical Nurse plays a vital role as part of a collaborative team of licensed and unlicensed caregivers, ensuring that patients, families, and significant others receive personalized, high-quality, and safe care. This role operates within a clinical setting overseen by Nurse Managers and other leaders, supported by our Shared Governance Model. The competencies of RNs are aligned with these frameworks and are reinforced by our core values.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct the Nursing Process, which includes assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of clinical care, utilizing evidence-based practices.
- Employ analytical and critical thinking skills to ensure individualized care, coordinating effectively with partners to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- Deliver relationship-based, patient-centered care that respects population-specific characteristics (e.g., age, gender, health conditions) while adapting service delivery to cultural diversity.
- Facilitate bedside shift reports, keeping patients and their significant others informed and focusing on the patient's goals in the care plan.
- Coordinate the delivery and documentation of safe, high-quality patient care, promoting a professional care delivery model.
- Demonstrate teamwork and collaboration, practicing in a fiscally responsible manner that encourages the recruitment and retention of healthcare team members.
- Engage in performance improvement initiatives, including research and the utilization of findings to enhance patient care quality.
- Act as a preceptor or mentor for fellow nurses and other healthcare staff, ensuring a qualified workforce and fostering a healthy work environment.
- Advocate for evidence-based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement within the nursing field.
- Participate in value analysis activities to inform decision-making regarding patient care products.
- Adhere to all organizational policies, procedures, and clinical competencies, including legal and regulatory standards, to meet safety goals.
- Engage in data collection and formulate relevant clinical questions to advance evidence-based practices.
- Proactively plan for patient care across the continuum while providing direct care.
- Contribute to the development of protocols and procedures in collaboration with care managers and other healthcare team members to achieve best practice outcomes.
- Associate's Degree in Nursing or graduation from an accredited nursing program is required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is preferred.
- Current RN license (Single State) is required upon hire.
- Multi-state Compact RN license is required upon hire.
- Less than one year of experience after completing an accredited nursing program with required clinical hours is necessary.
- Direct patient care experience is preferred.
