Pharmacist in Charge - Kenova, WV

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist in Charge experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

An opportunity is available for a licensed pharmacist to serve as Interim Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) at a behavioral health facility in Kenova, WV. This contract assignment begins on August 31, 2026, supporting a 165-bed hospital with an average daily census of 130 patients. The current Director of Pharmacy is retiring, and onsite training will be provided to ensure a smooth transition.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage all staffing and administrative duties associated with the PIC role
• Oversee daily pharmacy operations including medication order entry and inventory management
• Provide on-call coverage after scheduled shifts and on weekends
• Collaborate with a pharmacy team comprising 1 full-time pharmacist, 4 per diem pharmacists, and 2.6 FTE technicians
• Utilize the HCS order entry system and Omnicell automation, with training provided on both platforms

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

• Active West Virginia pharmacist license is required
• Hospital pharmacy experience with strong preference for Omnicell familiarity
• Previous leadership or supervisory pharmacy experience advantageous
• Ability to work effectively within a behavioral health setting

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
• On-call duties following shifts and during weekends
