Job Description
Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students from preschool through 8th grade as an Occupational Therapist. This in-person role spans two locations near Phoenix, AZ, offering the chance to enrich young lives through your expertise and drive measurable progress in school-based settings. With a weekly commitment of 37.5 hours, you'll provide direct support to students in need, collaborating with educators and families to foster independence and success.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid state licensure and certification for Occupational Therapy
- Experience working within school environments, preferably with a range from preschool to middle school
- Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and documentation
- Exceptional communication skills for effective collaboration with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams
- Adaptable, resourceful, and enthusiastic about working with diverse student populations
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver quality assessment, intervention, and progress monitoring for students with a variety of needs
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to student goals
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute insightful recommendations for accommodations and interventions
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate therapy strategies into daily activities
- Maintain thorough and accurate documentation as required by school and regulatory policies
- Provide guidance and training to support staff and families regarding best practices for student care
