This onsite contract role offers the opportunity to nurture students’ musical potential and foster a lifelong appreciation for the arts in a supportive environment.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Active Louisiana Teaching License/Certification, including any required endorsements for music or band.
  • Background in general education teaching, with specific experience in leading elementary band or music classrooms preferred.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Passion for working with elementary-aged students and supporting diverse learners.
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage rehearsals, concerts, and classroom activities.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging elementary band instruction, developing students’ instrumental skills and musical understanding.
  • Select age-appropriate repertoire and prepare students for performances, concerts, and special events.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel encouraged to participate and achieve.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and school staff to integrate music education throughout the curriculum.
  • Maintain clear records of student progress and attendance in line with school requirements.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student growth and upcoming events.
  • Uphold the standards and expectations of the school district throughout the contract period.

This position is anticipated to open for the 2026-2027 school year and offers a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week, immersing you in rewarding daily interactions with young musicians.
