Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree from an accredited U.S. medical or osteopathic school; foreign graduates may apply with a permanent certificate from the Educational Council for Foreign Medical Graduates.
  • A current medical license to practice in the United States, District of Columbia, or Puerto Rico.
  • Eligibility for board certification.
  • Completion of at least one year in an approved graduate medical education internship.
  • Successful completion of a thoracic surgery training program.
  • Aged between 21 and 42 years (waivers considered on an individual basis).
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
