Pharmacy Technician in Lake Butler, FL
Job Description
Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification and 1+ years Pharmacy Technician experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A pharmacy technician role is available supporting sterile compounding operations, inventory management, quality assurance, and daily pharmacy workflow in a fast-paced environment serving infusion and specialty pharmacy patients.
Location: Lake Butler, FL
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM
Type: 13+ week contract to hire
Responsibilities:
- Prepare sterile compounded medications under licensed pharmacist supervision following USP <797> and USP <800> standards.
- Maintain aseptic technique and cleanroom procedures to ensure product safety.
- Perform pharmacy calculations and accurately prepare compounded sterile products.
- Assist in preparation, labeling, packaging, and shipment of infusion medications.
- Maintain compounding logs, batch records, and quality assurance documentation.
- Monitor inventory, assist with ordering, receiving medications, and supplies.
- Support expiration date monitoring and product rotation to ensure compliance.
- Maintain cleanroom equipment and participate in environmental monitoring tasks.
- Assist pharmacists with medication order processing and prescription fulfillment.
- Ensure compliance with State Board of Pharmacy regulations, DEA, OSHA, and company policies.
- Participate in staff meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and ongoing training.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients, healthcare providers, and internal teams.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active Florida Registered Pharmacy Technician license required.
- National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or ExCPT) preferred.
- Minimum 1 year of sterile compounding experience in home infusion, hospital, or oncology settings.
- Knowledge of USP <797> and USP <800> sterile and hazardous compounding principles.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with healthcare professionals.
- Proficiency with pharmacy management systems and related technology.
