Schedule:
- Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM
- Saturday, 8:00 AM to 1:30 PM
This contract opportunity is ideal for a skilled Pharmacy Technician with retail/outpatient experience, looking to support a Federally Qualified Health Center environment. The role involves directly assisting pharmacists and healthcare providers in delivering high-quality pharmacy services to a diverse and often underserved patient population.
Responsibilities include:
- Entering prescription and patient demographic information accurately into the pharmacy system
- Filling, labeling, packaging, and preparing prescriptions under pharmacist supervision
- Processing insurance claims, including Medicaid, Medicare, commercial insurance, and 340B eligible prescriptions
- Assisting patients with prescription pick-up, refills, transfers, and addressing medication questions while referring clinical inquiries to the pharmacist
- Managing payment processing and following cash-handling procedures
- Ordering medications, receiving shipments, rotating stock, and maintaining pharmacy inventory
- Removing expired medications and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations
- Assisting with clinic medication and vaccine orders
- Maintaining accurate documentation and safeguarding patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA
- Collaborating with providers, nurses, medical assistants, and pharmacists to coordinate patient care
- Delivering compassionate customer service to uninsured and low-income patients
Qualifications/Desired Experience:
- 2 to 3 years of pharmacy technician experience highly preferred
- Active and clear Colorado pharmacy technician license
- Certification through PTCB or NHA required
- Experience with EPIC Willow preferred; training available for 1-2 days if needed
