Step into a rewarding role as an Adaptive Physical Education Teacher, supporting students’ physical education needs in a dynamic school environment. This full-time contract opportunity runs through the end of the academic year, with the option for part-time flexibility if you can commit to a three-day schedule with seven-hour workdays. As an itinerant educator, you’ll work across 2-3 school sites, serving diverse student populations and contributing meaningfully to their development.
What You’ll Bring:
- Adaptive Physical Education (APE) Certification preferred; minimum of PE Teacher certification required
- Demonstrated experience or genuine interest in working with students with adaptive physical education needs
- Reliable transportation and the ability to travel between schools as required
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills for balancing responsibilities across multiple sites
- Adaptability and problem-solving skills to adjust to district needs and caseload variations
- Compliance with district requirements, including drug screening and fingerprinting prior to start
Responsibilities Include:
- Delivering high-quality physical education instruction to students with diverse needs, ages, and abilities
- Developing and implementing individualized and group lesson plans to support student progress
- Collaborating with school staff, specialists, and families to ensure effective program delivery
- Maintaining accurate records, documenting student progress, and participating in IEP meetings as needed
- Traveling between assigned school sites on the East or West Bank to provide comprehensive support
- Participating in ongoing professional development and team meetings
