The Therapy Team Leader plays a crucial role in supporting the Director of Therapy Operations by overseeing the daily functions of a therapy team or specific discipline. This role demands strong supervisory abilities, effective communication skills for fostering interdepartmental relationships, and proficiency in evaluating, assessing, planning care, and delivering treatment within the licensed discipline. The Therapy Team Leader is responsible for delegating and supervising the tasks of therapist assistants and technicians, aiding in staffing, scheduling, orientation, training, and ensuring effective communication to guarantee sufficient coverage for patient treatments. Additionally, maintaining ongoing communication with various hospital departments is essential to meet the needs of patients, staff, and the organization. Typically, this position involves providing patient care within the licensed discipline for 80% to 90% of the working hours.

In this role, the Therapy Team Leader contributes to cultivating an environment and culture that empowers the hospital to achieve its mission by meeting or surpassing its objectives. This includes communicating the hospital's mission to all staff, holding team members accountable for their performance, inspiring them to enhance their skills, and managing the department's operations, which encompasses measurement, assessment, and continuous improvement. The Team Leader also plays a vital role in enhancing the clinical skills and overall performance of the staff through development and mentoring initiatives.
