Job Description
Make a meaningful impact by supporting preschool learners with cognitive delays as a Special Education Teacher in a collaborative educational setting. This contract opportunity runs from August 31 through May 20, offering you the chance to empower young students during a critical stage of their development.
Your expertise will be utilized across multiple sites—all conveniently located within a five-mile radius—providing flexibility and ensuring you’re working within a close-knit community. The caseload will focus primarily on preschoolers with cognitive delays, allowing you to develop targeted, individualized learning strategies as you work on an as-needed basis.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or related field required
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education
- Experience working with early childhood populations, especially those with cognitive delays
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Adaptability and a compassionate approach to diverse learning needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group instruction to preschool students with cognitive delays
- Collaborate with other educators, support staff, and families to create supportive learning environments
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs and progress reports
- Adjust teaching methods to best support each student's unique strengths and challenges
- Travel between sites as needed (all within 5 miles)
- Serve as a resource and advocate for best practices in early childhood special education
