Employee Benefits Account Manager
Job Description
We are seeking an Employee Benefits Account Manager to manage and service a designated book of small group employee benefits clients while delivering exceptional customer service and ongoing account support. This role will serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients, managing renewals, enrollments, benefit administration, carrier coordination, and compliance support. The ideal candidate has experience in employee benefits, account management, and group health insurance with a strong commitment to client retention and service excellence.
Key ResponsibilitiesAccount ManagementServe as the primary day to day contact for assigned employee benefits clients.
Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication.
Respond to client inquiries and resolve service issues promptly.
Manage ongoing client service requests and policy changes.
Maintain high client satisfaction and retention.
Manage annual renewal processes from data collection through proposal delivery.
Prepare benefit comparisons and renewal presentations.
Coordinate open enrollment meetings and employee communications.
Process new business, employee enrollments, terminations, and qualifying life events.
Educate clients and employees on benefit plans and enrollment options.
Resolve carrier, billing, claims, and eligibility issues.
Provide compliance resources and employee benefits guidance.
Support HR tools, wellness initiatives, and employee education programs.
Promote agency technology platforms and client service tools.
Support implementation of new client accounts.
Maintain accurate records within the agency management system.
Track renewal schedules, service activities, and client deliverables.
Identify opportunities to cross sell additional insurance products including dental, vision, life, disability, and voluntary benefits.
Participate in department meetings and company meetings.
1+ years of employee benefits or insurance experience.
1+ years of account management experience.
Strong knowledge of group health insurance and ancillary benefit products.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to manage multiple client accounts simultaneously.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Experience using agency management software.
Active New Jersey Life and Health Insurance License.
Bachelor's degree.
Experience using Applied Systems Epic.
Experience with employee benefits administration.
Knowledge of compliance and HR resources.
