Position Overview

We are seeking a full-time RN for our Acute Care - Cardiac Telemetry unit. The Clinical Nurse plays a vital role as part of a multidisciplinary team, consisting of both licensed and unlicensed caregivers, ensuring that patients, families, and significant others receive personalized, high-quality, and safe care. This role operates within a clinical setting overseen by Nurse Managers and supported by our Shared Governance Model. The practice framework is guided by our Professional Practice Model, emphasizing evidence-based practices and research. RN competencies are aligned with these models and reflect our organizational values.

All RN Clinical Nurses are expected to be licensed, knowledgeable, and adhere to the nursing standards outlined by the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act, implementing the Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics established by the American Nurses Association. As part of the patient services team, you will advocate for the patient's voice while adhering to system policies and striving for service excellence.

Core Responsibilities

• Exemplary Practice and Outcomes:
  • Utilize the Nursing Process (assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation) to deliver clinical care based on evidence-based practices, ensuring individualized care through analytical and critical thinking.
  • Provide patient-centered care that respects population-specific characteristics (e.g., age, gender, health conditions) and adapts service delivery to acknowledge cultural diversity.
  • Engage with patients and their significant others appropriately, utilizing methods such as bedside shift reports and interdisciplinary rounds to keep them informed and focused on their care goals.
  • Adhere to current clinical practice standards.
• Teamwork and Collaboration:
  • Coordinate and document safe, quality patient care that aligns with our professional care delivery model, employing diverse communication methods and ensuring timely documentation.
  • Exhibit teamwork by practicing fiscal responsibility and supporting the recruitment and retention of healthcare team members.
  • Engage in performance improvement initiatives, collaborating with all stakeholders and promoting research utilization to enhance patient care quality.
• Professional Development:
  • Complete all initial and ongoing competency assessments, mandatory education, and population-specific training.
  • Act as a preceptor or mentor for fellow nurses and staff, fostering a qualified workforce and a healthy work environment.
• Evidence-Based Practice and Research:
  • Encourage evidence-based practices and nursing research, participating in value analysis for evaluating patient care products.
  • Comply with all organizational policies, procedures, and clinical competencies, ensuring adherence to legal, regulatory, and accreditation standards.
  • Engage in data collection and pose relevant clinical questions to advance evidence-based practices.
• Resource Management:
  • Plan proactively for patient care across the continuum while providing direct care.
  • Contribute to the development of protocols and procedures in collaboration with care managers and healthcare team members to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Support the efficient use of human and material resources.

Other duties may be assigned as necessary. Compliance with all organizational policies, work standards, and code of conduct is expected.

Qualifications

• Education:
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing or Diploma in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Licenses and Certifications:
  • RN - Registered Nurse (Single State) or RN-COMPACT - Multi-state Compact required upon hire.
  • BLS - Basic Life Support or equivalent certification required.
• Experience:
  • A minimum of 5 years of RN experience required, with direct patient care experience preferred.
• Skills:
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English; basic computer skills are essential.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills, along with excellent customer service abilities.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and respond to emergencies with composure and respect.
  • Demonstrated time management and critical thinking skills, utilizing evidence and analytical reasoning in nursing practice.
