Salary: $80,000-$110,000 per year, depending on experience
We are seeking a Civil Structural Engineer to join an engineering and project delivery team supporting the industrial steel tank, storage, and heavy industrial construction industry.
This position will be responsible for civil and structural engineering design, structural analysis, engineering documentation, and project support for field-erected welded steel storage tanks and related industrial infrastructure.
The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in civil and structural engineering, experience with structural analysis and design, and the ability to work on multiple projects in a fast-paced industrial engineering and construction environment.
This is a full-time, on-site position in Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina.
Industry & Project ScopeThe organization specializes in the engineering, fabrication, construction, and repair of field-erected welded steel tanks and industrial storage systems.
Projects may support industries and facilities including:
Power generation
Chemical and petrochemical facilities
Petroleum and fuel terminals
Water and wastewater treatment
Manufacturing facilities
Industrial processing facilities
Large-scale storage infrastructure
The engineer will support projects involving the design, construction, modification, retrofit, repair, and engineering of carbon steel and stainless steel storage tanks and associated structures.
Key ResponsibilitiesPerform civil and structural engineering design for industrial projects.
Conduct structural analysis and engineering calculations.
Develop and review engineering plans, drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
Support the design and engineering of field-erected welded steel storage tanks and related structures.
Evaluate structural systems, foundations, supports, and associated civil/structural components.
Apply applicable engineering codes, standards, regulations, and industry requirements.
Use engineering software to develop designs, perform analysis, and prepare project documentation.
Prepare and review technical drawings using AutoCAD.
Perform structural analysis using STAAD or comparable structural analysis software.
Utilize Microsoft Excel for engineering calculations, data analysis, and project documentation.
Coordinate with engineers, project managers, fabrication teams, construction personnel, and other project stakeholders.
Manage and prioritize multiple engineering projects simultaneously.
Monitor engineering deliverables to support quality, safety, schedule, and project objectives.
Identify technical issues and develop practical engineering solutions.
Participate in project planning, coordination, and execution.
Review engineering work for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable standards.
Communicate technical information effectively with internal teams and project stakeholders.
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
Professional experience in civil engineering and/or structural engineering.
Experience with structural analysis and structural design.
Proficiency with AutoCAD.
Experience with STAAD or similar structural analysis software.
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, codes, and technical documentation.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and technical accuracy.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary engineering and project team.
Ability to work full-time on-site in Batesburg-Leesville, SC.
Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain a PE license.
Experience with steel structures or steel design.
Experience with storage tanks, industrial structures, or heavy industrial projects.
Experience with foundations, concrete structures, structural supports, or related civil/structural systems.
Experience working in an industrial construction, fabrication, engineering, or manufacturing environment.
Project management or engineering project coordination experience.
Familiarity with applicable structural, civil, and industry codes and standards.
