Pharmacist in Lake City, FL

This role offers a unique opportunity to apply sterile compounding expertise alongside clinical pharmacy services in a dynamic infusion pharmacy setting. You will ensure regulatory compliance while providing leadership and support to pharmacy staff.

Location: Lake City, FL
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM
Contract to hire – 13+ weeks

Responsibilities:

• Interpret, verify, and process physician medication orders accurately.
• Perform and oversee sterile compounding following USP <797> and USP <800> standards.
• Conduct final verification of compounded sterile preparations to ensure safety and quality.
• Review medication profiles for allergies, interactions, dosing accuracy, and compatibility.
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and healthcare team members.
• Supervise and mentor pharmacy technicians and support staff to uphold best practices.
• Maintain cleanroom standards, aseptic techniques, and environmental monitoring processes.
• Participate in quality assurance, medication safety initiatives, audits, and continuous improvement efforts.
• Maintain accurate compounding, batch, quality, and regulatory documentation.
• Assist with inventory management, controlled substances handling, and daily pharmacy operations.
• Support the development of pharmacy policies, procedures, and conduct staff training sessions.
• Engage in staff meetings and professional conferences to stay current in practice standards.

Qualifications:

• Active Florida Pharmacist license in good standing.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience with hazardous and non-hazardous sterile compounding per USP <797>, USP <800>, DEA, OSHA, and Board of Pharmacy regulations.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities, with a focus on teamwork and patient safety.
